Poem About Our Current Mr. President/Oh Hear Ye Hear Ye Citizens and Denizens

Citizens and denizens of these, our United States how far have we come

How far will we go with a state of our Unionn in hands such as this?

Anyone old enough to remember beloved Red Skelton and his Pledge of Allegiance?

He said his teacher taught it to his class when he was in elementary school

There were only forty-eight states

There was a feeling of service oriented

There was a united agreement to care for those less fortunate

Not to give and give and take over their lives but to get them back on their feet

There was a time of spelling bees and chanting of arithmetic heard class to class

All in unison, all together, all correctly and help immediately if one should falter and fall

What is this now the day after St Patrick's Day? On CNN?

Laughter at misspelling?

Approvement of a bookies work on a dry erase board?

Oh citizens LOOK!! It is being done in YOUR oval office!

By OUR Mr. President? NO! SURELY NOT!!!!!!

Betting is betting. Literacy is important. Are we so at peace and quiet in our country

that this is no big deal within our yes OUR oval office?

Mr President is no CEO, no Management that can fire us or take us out back and shoot us (YET)

But Give Him/Her/Them an INCH and I swear to you, all people of America who can spell and count and who know right from wrong

They will have you all complacent, mindless, soulless, hungry and numb.

They are waiting. They think there are no rebels, no insurgents, no hippies, no outraged temperance people left in the WORLD, never mind in THIS country!

"THIS IS OUR COUNTRY LAND THAT WE LOVE"

TAKE IT BACK.

VOTE HIM OUT.

THSESE ARE OUR RIGHTS, OUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND OUR PLEASURE!
