It Is Not Comforting When A Conspiracy Theory is Proved To Be True/Sci Fi Made Real

Anyone who has a love of science fiction and urban fantasy books do not find it difficult to slip into a conspiracy type mentality. The more one reads, after all, the more one sees with the sight inside the soul. And that is not always a happy sight.

Stories, movies, propaganda, fiction, movies all contain just enough truth to keep the ones in charge of that "inflammatory, vile, biased information" from being completely believable. After all, why would anyone or any government want to spend all their time finding out what we are doing or saying in places where surveillance is not allowed? For that matter why has surveillance become suddenly so very popular?

Could it be that we as a world we have become so paranoid of one another that we sit with fingers poised above the button that blows up our house/apartment/warehouse/hideout just because "you made a phone call?"

Chris Matyszczyk is a wonderful journalist and he is able to make his point better than this poor writers’ attempt. This writer becomes too embroiled in the issue to stand back calmly and keep the satire without the anger.

As this writer was following the threads of this research it became clear that people of my generation are the ones who are showing the most concern. The people of a certain generation view it as an infringement upon our freedom, our right to remain anonymous if it pleases us rather than as a convenient method for cartography. One article described Google tricycle on the University of Pennsylvania campus as a wonderful way to learn the walk ways and how best to get from one building to another. Heaven forbid we ask another student o actually buy a map of it ourselves. The younger generation views products such as the Google tricycle as a new techy toy. Is no one concerned about how this "toy" could cause harm?

Once upon a time there was a golden serpent and it protected a group of people from harm. But, once its job was completed, that golden serpent was put out of the reach of the children! Geez, why do you suppose He did that? HMMM...let me think....

It seems to me that we as a world of humans, together, must stand up and say OK this is where the line forms. Set the standards and stop the peeking over the fences trying to "catch" the next scandal of someone or something in higher position of authority.

Another option is if whoever is doing the surveillance wants to "pin" something on someone that badly then perhaps they should run for the government office of their choice themselves. Once they are in a position of authority then let's ask them how they would like their surveillance served...rare or well done?
